Halloween!!!!

It came and went.
Life seems to do that lately... come and go so quickly we aren't even sure if we remembered to blink.
But we could not miss our VERY FAVORITE holiday...
HALLOWEEN!!
So we started by getting our trick or treat door ready.

Then it was on to COSTUMES! Dan and I love dressing up.

Because mom is still trying to figure out how to get the basics accomplished, this year was the year we went through the costume boxes and created our own costumes. I was actually pretty amazed with what we came up with.

Dan and I were Senior and Senora Jacobos

This is not the BEST picture, but you get the idea. Dan's costume was complete with a Balero (which is a wooden Mexican toy similar to a yo-yo) that became a great party favor to all the small ones-or so HE thought. :) and a guitar that he put to great use by singing "La Bamba" any chance he got. (psst... he cannot play the guitar) Dan has a "gift" for being uninhibited and able to become whatever character he choses. He has an amazing repitore of accents that he uses liberally. I, on the other hand, tend to be a bit shy and become more of an assessory to his character, but we have fun. We started out the holiday with a few Halloween parties where Dan was able to leave his mark. BIG thanks to my parents for taking the older 3 boys up to the cabin for a SPOOKY SLEEPOVER filled with Halloween movies, ghost stories, pizza, bear pancakes, and lots of fun run around time. Next year, our annual Halloween party will be back!!! So be warned!

The boys did a great job putting together their costumes as well. They are obsessed with Star Wars, therefore The Force was with them. Tracen was Obi Wun Kanobe and Tyler was Anikan Skywalker (no clue how to spell those names- The Force is NOT with me). Tate was thrilled to wear the skeleton costume that grandma got him for his birthday. Thanks again grandma!

While Dan took the boys out Trick-or- Treating, Trev and I got to hang at home giving out the treats! I confess this is the first year in a VERY long time that I have not gone Trick-or- Treating and I had to let out a big sigh as the boys took off.

BUT, I did have fun seeing all the kids in their costumes.

This is how Trev and I started out the evening. Terrible picture, I know.
1st attempt:

2nd attempt:
Then the doorbell rang, and Trev must have been a bit SPOOKED by the goblins that greeted us because this is the 3rd attempt:
*Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE my wrap? Trev actually loves it too.*
So then it was on to a quick photo shoot where I captured a few cute moments.

Don't you love the pumpkin hat? Grandma Jacobs made this for him and brought it over just in time for the big night.

Trev is such a big smiler! I love it! each smile brings me so much JOY!

Trev was actually a Lion this year.
Too bad you can't see his tail. Such a cutie.

Then... he was exhausted and took a little siesta.

But seemed to wake up pretty pleased.

Tate got a bit tired of running from house to house and decided to come back early. He was more than happy to watch "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" while downing a few choice pieces from his haul.
Speaking of THE LOAD.... here is HALF of what they got this year.
I say HALF because the first half was just as much, if not more, that they got from the trunk or treat this year. So after they sorted and counted and each picked 20 of their very favorite pieces of candy... they gave the rest to THE SWITCH WITCH! She in turn brought them a great surprise.... the movie "How to Train your Dragon"

Fantastic trade, we all thought!

Oh and of course I forgot to mention the grand pumpkin carving ...

that DIDN'T exactly happen. Instead.... PAINTING!

Tracen's

Tyler's

Tate's

Trev's( with help from his brothers)

and of course...
Daddy's

Yes, his got carved. He stayed up till 1 am creating this masterpiece. It was for a contest at his sister's Halloween party in which he one FIRST PRIZE!

What? You don't think it looks all that GRAND?

That's because you havn't seen it in the dark!
OOOOOOOO!!!
(Brag moment: Dan drew and carved this free hand!

That's WITHOUT a pattern bought at Walmart:)

Let's hear those OOOO's and AWWWWE's again!

And what is a holiday without the FOOD?
We had pumpkin pancakes with buttermilk syrup Halloween night and homemade chili in bread bowls the next. YUMMY!

Well, that wraps it up. Another fun and spooky-filled Halloween!

Soccer, Soccer, Soccer!!!

Well it's the end of another busy soccer season.
Is it ok for me to say... finally and Hooray!!!?
Not that I don't love watching my boys have fun doing something they both LOVE, because goodness, I do. I just don't seem to love being at Powerline Park every single night of the week.... that's all. Gets a little old.
ANYWAY... they had a wonderful season and they both played so well.
We are so proud!

Blessing Trev

On Sunday October 10, 2010 (that is 10/10/10 by the way) we blessed our
Trev Sherman Jacobs

It was a wonderful day. Dan gave him a beautiful blessing. We had fantastic weather, lots of great family, and friends, some yummy soup, rolls, salad, and every kind of tasty treat afterwards. Thank you so much to all who helped.

He was an angel all day of course.

Good thing we blessed him as early as we did (he is 1 month old). His blessing outfit was a bit on the snug side in length. He is growing so fast.

We have given a different blessing outfit to each one of our boys. I thought about having them all wear the same one, but now that we have all boys, I am really glad I made the decision to let them each have their own outift. (I am still working on getting a picture up of each of the boys on their big day)
The only thing they all had the same were the blue crochet blanket that my dear friend's mother made and these cute little shoes.

Congratulations sweet boy on your big day!

We LOVE you!

What's Up with Trev?

Sweet Trev. He is seriously THE sweetest little guy.
When he is NOT trapped in his car seat being dragged to and from the elementary school taking and picking up the brothers or hanging out at soccer games...
He tries to stretch out for a little quiet time.
But mostly this is the scene he gets.
Can you feel the LOVE? The only thing that saves him ... are a few stories from the Book of Mormon.
*That wonderful book will save us all!*

Let's Roll...

The boys got roller blades a while back from grandma and have finally got confidant enough to leave the back patio.

Tracen and Tyler love the blades, Tate loves his bike, and Trev... well... he loves a good ride just as much as the rest of them.

They also love their scooters...

Tate has finally figured out how to pedal his big wheel and he insists on riding it EVERYWHERE!

So....
LET'S ROLL!!

It's a PUPPY PARTY!!!

Look who turned 3!!!
on September 15th!
All he wanted for his birthday was a...

PUPPY PARTY!!

So that is what we did.

Thanks to my AMAZING sister for coming to help me, Tate's puppy cake wish came true!
I will never again wait until the very day of the party to make something like this happen.
Thank You Melanie for coming to help... you completely saved the day!

I thought the cupcakes turned out pretty darn cute too.

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Taters, Happy Birthday to YOU!!!
Tate and Zeke

I think he REALLY liked the cake...
"What? Is there something on my face?"
Present Time!

Always LOTS of helpers to get those gifts open...

And one who thought this gift from Grandma Jacobs should have been his.

Passing out the Thank You HUGS... starting with Great Grandpa Stratford.
Thanks Tyler
Thanks Aunt Christy
And Uncle Shane
And.... Grandma and Grandpa Stratford
"ROAAAAAAARRRRR!" is apparently what skeltons say.
He seriously has been wearing this every single day!
