Tate Leo Jacobs - 2 yrs

It is amazing to me that our baby Tater has turned TWO YEARS OLD!
It doesn't seem that long ago that my own daddy rushed me to the hospital the morning of September 15th at 3am where it was discovered that I was at a 10+ , not knowing how soon Dan would arrive (or what character he would be dressed as) and that Tate was already too far down to do the C-section that I was supposed to have because my other 2 babies had been cesarean.
Tate has always been full of surprises. SURPRISE- "I'm ready to come to the family!"-2 weeks early. SURPRISE- Daddy did make it in time. SURPRISE- "I am not going to wait, I want to come out 'normal'". SURPRISE- mom's uterus did NOT explode and a very strong little baby was born.

THREE BOYS! Crazy! But oh how they love each other.

What a precious blessing.
What is even more of a SURPRISE is how he can go from such a sweet and innocent little guy...
to...

The many faces of Tate Leo Jacobs, our cheerful lion.
Oh how we LOVE you Tater!

***B-day parties galore posted below***

Let's party!

What could change the look of this little mug?

How about a PARTY?!!!
So because Sunday the 13th was GRANDPARENTS DAY and the 14th was Brittany's B-day and the 15th was Tate's 2nd B-day...

We had a party!
It started with a few presents...

A birthday girl playing heavy, heavy hang over thy poor head...

and a little boy who loves opening presents. He loves reading the little ABC books and zooming his Elmo car around. The adorable puppy was given to Tate from Tracen and Tyler. They wanted to give him a puppy because Tracen got one when he turned 2 and then gave Tyler one at his second B-day. So they decided Tate really needed one too. And he carries that puppy everywhere he goes.

What is a party without CAKE!
DIG IN!!!
Mmmmm....
Look how HAPPY it makes everyone!

And a B-day party for Brittany just wouldn't be complete without a little...
THRILLER!!!!!

The talent coming out of those mics was pretty impressive!

In fact we were all so mesmerized that we didn't notice Kevin keeping himself happy with a bit more cake.

Then on Tuesday, Tate's actually B-day, we had the Jacob's crew over...

for a few more presents

Did I mention that Tate really loves opening presents?
Who wrapped that present? It's in a garbage sack!Oh it was the mom and dad. (what cheap-os!)

But the treasure inside was sure a hit!

Then onto the BIRTHDAY CAKE!
Ok so it wasn't really cake. More like fudge brownies with Andes Mints melted on top. Yummmmmmmmmy!

He really just wanted the monster truck, or "for lo lo" (four wheeler) as he called it.

Ok, so he liked the brownies too.
Well...
And thanks to everyone that made his day GREAT!

I've got skills...

...well, maybe I don't have "computer hacking skills, or num-chuck skills" (name that movie), but I have picked up a few others that even my mom didn't think I would pick up. So get ready to be impressed! (or shocked- I know I have been)

First, Dan and I planted a garden.

(these pics were taken about 2 months ago- the tomatoes grew to be almost as tall as the fence and then fell over because they were so heavy with tomatoes)

Then came the season for picking...
We have picked this same haul multiple times.

I think our boys have had the most fun seeing what treasure was ready for picking each morning. So what do you do with all that produce?

SALSA!

(a BIG THANK YOU goes out to my dear friend Amy for getting me started on this)

I then got a bushel of the biggest most beautiful and tasty peaches ever!

Here is what I did with those...

PEACH FREEZER JAM

and bottled peaches!
I am amazed at how beautiful of a sight I think this is.

Dan and I also made some HUCKLEBERRY JAM with some of the huckleberries we picked in McCall, Idaho. Not too much however, we just couldn't part with too many of our berries.

We have strawberries and marion berries waiting to be made into much more jam. YUM!

Oh and there are still plenty of tomatoes waiting to be made into either more SALSA or hmmm...maybe I will do SPAGHETTI SAUCE. So stay tuned...

I have also done a bit of sewing again.

Leah (Dan's sister) had a B-day in July so she got this apron.

Brittany (sis-in-law) also has a B-Day in Sept. so she gets this apron.

My nephew Maverick turned 3 in August so I made him his very own
SUPER MAV cape!

My neice Madison turned 3 in July so she got an apron like the rest of us girlys'.

Here is a picture of Madi wearing the apron with her new red cowgirl boots and hat at her B-day party! So cute!
Well, that is the extent of the "skills" I have recently obtained. I don't mean this to be a brag session, I really just wanted to get it recorded for my blog book.

( So until I come up with some other skills, maybe I will work on those "num-chuck skills".)
