So we had BIG PLANS to take the boys camping this last weekend. BUT... there is a lot of prep work involved with getting ready and I felt LAZY, so....

...this will have to do.
We started out by
BBQ on the grill.

Mouth watering steaks for D & D, hot dogs for T3 and juicy corn on the cobb. Mmmmmm.
POOR TYLER.

Tyler has "inherited" my lovely allergies. He was sneezing the entire evening and woke up looking like this...

But the GAMES carried on...

They each had a "cool trick" to show off...

Especially the DADDY...

Tate was a little more interested in the drinks and sleeping quarters.
Then of course
DADDY had show the boys some of his
"special moves"...
just demonstrating the correct way to "ride the pony"...

Then daddy BECAME the horse. Complete with sound and everything. You really should click on this one. You can almost hear the horsey sounds coming out...
And then they were done...

What camping trip is complete without a little
roasting of the marshmellows? So our AWESOME neighbors, BEN and Alexis, had us over.
This was the ony picture taken for this event. Sorry Ben. Alexis took it.

We then watched a movie in the tent, SLEPT, (sort of) and then the games began again...
Tracen actually exclaimed,
"This is the BEST camping trip EVER!"We may never leave our backyard again.

That is my idea of the perfect campout! If the bugs get too bad, or your bed isn't so comfy... Move indoors! Besides indoor plumbing is a good thing! That just might be our next camping trip.
So much fun! We LOVED getting to enjoy part of your perfect camping trip with you. That photo I took is hilarious. It was when I was playing around with your camera. Ooops! Gotta love a bootie shot. Looks like you have your camera all figured out. Great action shots.
I am so mad that we didn't take any pictures of the roasting festivities. We could have had some goo....gooey...sticky....happy marshmallow faces. Oh, well next time, huh? Speaking of which....Brogan keeps asking when we can do it again? :)
You guys are so much fun....we ALL had a bLAsT! Thanks and we will have to plan another one....or not plan....just last minute figure another one out! :)
Camp Jacobs looks like a great campground. What a great idea and a fun experience of making the backyard even more fun!
Poor Tyler...I can feel his pain. This time of the year just gets me too. (Sniffle & sneeze)
Just for the record, Alexis, I still have a long, long, long way to go before I get this complicated piece of...hmmm... figured out. Seriously, most of the stuff you were trying to explain the other night might as well have been in Tagolag. I just might use Ben's tactics and stick with Auto.
My mom (well actually MOST of my family) wouldn't go camping in the great outdoors, but occasionally we would all camp out in our backyard! Those were some of the greatest memories for me...it looks like your family had loads of fun too!
I love your camping trip! It looks like so much fun!! Next time, call the crazy Hancocks and we'll come over! :)
That is awesome. Can we come next time? Miss you like CRAZY!! We are going to be in town the weekend of your birthday. We are planning to go to the zoo the am of the 13th. Want to come?
You two are such great parents, what great memories you are creating for your kids. PS. We don't know if we for sure will sell our house. We will try.. we don't know where we are going, we just want to live in a neighborhood w/ more kids. Where are you going?
