One week later...

...and my yard has magically transformed...
(see previous post)

The colors are so vibrant.
RED, ORANGE,GOLD against a backdrop of BLUE sky and GREEN grass...

I am so in love with this tree!

It is perfectly framed in my back windows and makes me feel so HAPPY everytime I catch a glimpse of it.
I also love this yellow carpet under the swing.
So BEAUTIFUL!
I LOVE FALL!

'Tis the season to...

I really do love this time of year. I love the colors, the decorations, the mountains, the hiking, the crispness in the air, the jeans and hoodies, the throwing open the windows (at least the last few days), the looking back over the summer with fond memories of all the fun activities, the anticipation of the holidays approaching.... you name it, I love it.
I LOVE FALL!
I feel as though we have
GATHERED...
AND GATHERED...
... and now it is time to clean it all up...

and GIVE THANKS!

A few of my favorite scenes around our house this season...

This is a scene I love discovering...
All three boys devouring some good BOOKS!
Tate is always begging me to read him a book.
Tracen is absolutely LOVING being able to read his own books.
Tyler is trying so hard to learn how to read. Every night when he picks a book he'll say, "Tonight is the night I am going to learn to read... (a certain word pertaining to whatever book he has chosen)."
Oh and as a side note...
Here is our Tater singing me a song this morning.
I thought he looked pretty darn cute in his favorite and humongous Lightning McQueen slippers.

I just love this little mug.
HAPPY FALL TO ALL!

a SUPER hAllOwEen!

As many know, we absolutely LOVE HALLOWEEN at our house! So of course this year was no exception. The entire month seemed to be filled with fun festivities.

We started out by adding a few festive touches around the house.

The boys had to display ALL of their art work for ALL to see.

*Everyone needs a BOBBLE HEAD FRANKENSTEIN*
And a SPOOKY GHOST!

This is one of my very FAVORITE decorations. My very own SPELL BOOK!
You can place candy inside this book for handing out candy. When you open the book a cackley old witches voice says spooky little phrases that I just love.

Of course we need a SPIDER.
In fact this is the very spider that apparently attacked Tate one afternoon. From the other room I heard Tate say, "Spider! You get a time out and a CONSEQUENCE!"
This is where I found the spider-- in time out!
This is another treasured thing I found for $2 one year.
(You have no idea just how fitting this is.)

Then we were ready for a whole lot of...

Running through the crunchy leaves
Hikes to see the beautiful color splashed on the mountains
Hayrides
Picking out Pumpkins
Carving the Pumpkins
The Pumpkin Walk
Plenty o Halloween parties
(so sorry to those whose parties we couldn't make it to- hopefully next year?)
and
WAY TOO MUCH CANDY!
(Is it bad that Tate puked all over his bed the night BEFORE Halloween?)

So because I was not the best at remembering my camera for every event and moment, here was our Halloween agenda.

We of course had to start the day with a "healthy" breakfast of colorful
Halloween Pancakes.
with butterscotch chips for the faces

Mmmmmmm.....
Oh so HAPPY!
*Might I add that this healthy breakfast did not even begin until about 10:45am because when there is no school we tend to have a bunch of lazy boys that didn't wake up until 10:15am.*

Usually I like to carry on the tradition of decorating Halloween sugar cookies, but this year I felt lazy.

So.... we made scrumptious PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES instead!
YUMMY!

Look what treasure I found at Kent's Market this year!
BREAD BOWLS made to look like PUMPKINS!

I had to have them so we had...
CHEESY POTATO BROCCOLI SOUP for dinner.

The boys thought the bread bowls were so cool that they actually ate all their soup.
We actually had this dinner a few days before Halloween because Halloween Day was booked pretty full!

Then it was FINALLY TIME to become what this family was born to become...
*Actually we got dressed up at 12noon that day and began our yearly visits to the grandparents and parents to show off the costumes.*

But we did manage to get in a little photo shoot (thanks Amy)before heading out!

Don't ask what Dan is doing ( or Dancock as he referred to himself as-think of the movie Hancock with Will Smith). He was a very unpredictable Super as you can imagine.

Here we are trying to show off our capes.

(Ok- I'll admit it. I MADE them pose to show them off because I slaved WAY TOO MANY hours sewing every stinking stitch of these to have them undocumented. I think it will be YEARS before I sew another Halloween costume, let alone 5!)

Of course we had to get a few of the CRAZY COUPLE who created this SUPER clan!

What a SUPER HALLOWEEN!!!!

Until next year....
